Fishing season has arrived here on the east coast, with boats and fishermen heading to the waters in hopes of reaping big catches. And recently, a boat from Ocean City brought in the first white marlin of the season.
Wrecker Sport Fishing recently caught and released the first white marlin of the season, along with angler Kevin Gibbs, Captain Bobby Layton and friends Austin Bowden and Cody Smith, according to the Ocean City Fishing Center.
The crew of the Wrecker is set to receive a prize of over $10,000 for catching the first white marlin of the season, kicking off another summer of fishing in Ocean City,
White marlin is Ocean City’s signature fish, and the White Marlin Open, the largest marlin tournament in the world, will be held in Ocean City August 8-12 for its 49th year.
